Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and can navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we evaluated the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends that you tidy the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other clutter it may encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When robot vacuum cleaner i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home.
